Welcome home, Ervin Johnson! 🏀✨

The championship-winning Privateer, first-round NBA draft pick and member of the Class of 1996 has returned to his Lakefront roots as LSU New Orleans’ new assistant basketball coach.

Johnson played center in the NBA from 1993 to 2006, with a career spanning the Seattle SuperSonics, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

His journey reflects the spirit of so many Privateers: through hard work, determination and an unbreakable spirit, he rose from humble beginnings to build a life and career defined by success and purpose.

In his remarks, Johnson shared his excitement about mentoring young men as they grow into the best versions of themselves—and about giving his daughters the opportunity to see him return to the game and the University that helped shape his life.

🤳 Aubrey Allison, better known as , shares all aspects of her life in New Orleans—from events to advocacy on local issues.

🎨 Ryan "Phlegm" Gilbert is an artist, educator, DJ, and storyteller who roots his work and purpose in community as a Black New Orleanian.

✍️ Nikki Ummel is an award-winning poet, specialty writer, and co-founder of LMNL Arts that centers her work around a belief that stories can change lives.
