Tulane's Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine has advanced public health for over a century, from New Orleans neighborhoods to communities worldwide. Tulane's Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine has been ranked #10 among public health graduate schools in the nation by U.S. As the only school combining public health and tropical medicine, we've been training students since 1912 who understand that you cannot go through your day without being impacted by public health. Located in New Orleans, our diverse community represents more than 70 cultures from around the world, with students enrolling from more than 40 different countries. Our faculty conduct research in more than 75 countries, working to ensure all of humanity has an equitable opportunity to be healthy and pursue optimal well-being. Our students pursue Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH), Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (MPHTM), Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Science (MS), dual degrees, doctoral programs, and certificates across seven academic departments: biostatistics & data science, environmental health sciences, epidemiology, health policy & management, international health & sustainable development, social, behavioral & populations sciences, and tropical medicine & infectious disease. The school collaborates with prestigious research centers, including the Tulane Regional Primate Research Center, the Center for Infectious Diseases, the Tulane/Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research, and the Mary Amelia Center for Women's Health Equity Research (MAC).

On Tuesday, our Food for Thought Student Pantry hosted this semester's second Fresh Market event, an opportunity for WSPH students to supplement their pantry with fresh vegetables and fruit, enhance their knowledge of incorporating and preparing healthy foods in the meals they cook, and connect with various resources at Tulane that support students' overall wellness.

A big congratulations to members from the Dean's Student Advisory Council who have been selected to serve on two of the functional subcommittees for the Charity redevelopment project! Their participation will ensure the project receives the proper feedback needed to help optimize the facility for WSPH needs.

We’re looking for eligible participants who are at least 18 years old, live in the greater New Orleans area, and eat out at least once per week to join us for a research workshop about eating at restaurants! Here’s what to expect:

Participate in two workshops (one, two-hour in-person workshop and one, one-hour online workshop TBD), about 2-4 weeks apart. Choose one in-person workshop date listed in the image and receive compensation for completing each workshop.

Here are some fun photos from the Crescent Connection Bridge Run, a 6k held Sept. 19. We had a small team of WSPH staff participate: Team name "One Step at a Time" with Nichole Valenzuela, Erica Valenzuela, Shallene Joseph & Cristina Miller. Some of our Global Scholar students volunteered at the event, working at the water station at mile 3 at the top of the CCC bridge. Congrats to all runners, and thank you to the volunteers!
