LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine was excited to welcome 24 STEM NOLA Fellows on Saturday, September 20! Hosted by the Office of Community Engagement and Health Programs and the Office of Medical Education, the students explored our educational and simulation facilities in the Student Learning Center.

The Fellows got hands-on with patient case simulations, heart and lung sound assessments, and a panel discussion with current medical students about life in medical school and the application process.

From exploring clinical skills to hearing firsthand about the medical school journey, the day gave these future STEM leaders a glimpse into the world of healthcare and the innovative education happening at LSU Health New Orleans.

On Friday, September 19, LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine welcomed approximately 700 first-year medical students and their families for our annual Family Day!

Guests explored our educational and simulation facilities, including CALS, the Student Learning Center, and the Center for Advanced Practice, while experiencing hands-on activities such as patient simulations, anatomy demonstrations, heart and lung sound assessments, laparoscopic skills, and vascular simulations.

It was a fun and engaging opportunity for families to see firsthand how our students learn, practice, and prepare to become tomorrow’s physicians. Thank you to everyone who helped make Family Day a success!
