Congratulations to Associate Dean Mary Algero, whose fifth edition of Louisiana Legal Research was recently published by Carolina Academic Press.

The book is written to assist attorneys, law students, paralegals, librarians, and others in researching legal materials effectively and efficiently. While mainly focused on Louisiana law, the book provides the reader with information necessary to research federal law and laws of other jurisdictions. The book also includes "lagniappe," fun facts throughout the book that provides readers with relevant historical facts about the topics being discussed.

Congratulations to law student Kaitlyn Manning, who was sworn in as a Rule XX student practitioner in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic earlier this week!

Kaitlyn is an evening JD student who also serves as the College of Law's records administrative assistant and grants coordinator. She will begin working with Professor Tim McEvoy in the clinic's child welfare and domestic violence section this summer.

Kaitlyn's commitment to pursuing a JD, joining the law clinic, and working full-time is a testament to Loyola's goal of supporting students in every phase of their law school journey.
