It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Brother Jeremy Herschaft, who laid down his working tools yesterday at the age of 49.
​Brother Herschaft came to us in 2002 as an Eagle Scout—articulate, athletic, and full of promise. Though we hoped to see him in our officer lineup, the Grand Architect of the Universe led him to Manhattan and Houston as a successful, humble Maritime Attorney. An avid marathoner and devoted family man, he balanced a thriving life with unwavering loyalty to our Craft. When diagnosed with brain cancer, he fought with immense fortitude at MD Anderson, even running again to raise money for cancer research.
​Our deepest sympathies are with his wife and three young children.

​Initiated: March 30, 2002 (Charleston, SC)
​Passed: June 5, 2002
​Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason: September 4, 2002
Germania Lodge No. 46 will observe a period of mourning for the next two stated communications.

Notice of Joint Meeting and Fellowcraft Degree — Wednesday, July 22nd
Brothers,
This Wednesday, we celebrate a landmark milestone: 27 years of joint meetings with the brethren of Indivisible Friends Lodge No. 404. Following their magnificent program during our last visit to their lodge, we are honored to host them this week.
Indivisible Friends #404 will open the evening York Rite style. Following their business, the gavel will be turned over to our officers to confer the Fellowcraft degree. We are especially excited to pass an Entered Apprentice who is the stepson of one of our own members—he is highly motivated and ready.
Please make every effort to attend this special event, support our officers, and welcome our candidate.
Refreshments: 6:30 PM

Last night at Germania Lodge Nr. 46, the hall was filled with true Gemütlichkeit as Islam “Izzy” Ezzo was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason — a night none of us will soon forget.
Brothers came from across the country — Arkansas, New Mexico, Montana, Oklahoma and a delegation from Texas — we also had a visiting Grand Lodge officer all the way from Queensland, Australia. Proof that no matter the distance, the bonds of Masonry hold firm.
