The purpose of Kappa Delta Epsilon is to promote the cause of education by fostering a spirit of fellowship, high standards of scholastic attainment, and professional ideals among its members. The Delta Epsilon chapter of KDE at the University of New Orleans was chartered in December 2006. As a professional organization, KDE is an active group in which members of serious purpose undertake projects
of service to the campus and/or community. Kappa Delta Epsilon enhances teaching as a profession and as a way of living by alerting members to current issues in education through regularly scheduled meetings. The Delta Epsilon chapter meets at least once a month during the fall and spring semesters. The regular monthly meetings include a guest speaker from the field of education. In addition to the regular meetings, KDE hosts socials to promote friendship and networking possibilities. Each month, KDE also tries to present small informational sessions of interest to all education majors at UNO. Membership to KDE is open to all undergraduate education majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and 30 hours of completed coursework.
