Beggars (Loyola University New Orleans) BEGGARS - Loyola's Oldest Social Fraternity since 1923. Strength. Unity. Action. The Beggars are more than brotherhood.

The Beggars Fraternity was founded at Loyola University New Orleans in 1923 when a Jesuit traveled to Rome to secure the Pope's permission to form a social fraternity, the first at any Jesuit University. The Men of Beggars have been an integral part of the campus since their founding in 1923. Both the school’s newspaper and the Student Government Association were started by the Beggars. In additio

They are a Loyola Tradition and their focus on the betterment of Loyola University is more than mere words, it is a commitment. Remaining true to their core values, the Beggars have maintained local status and exist exclusively at Loyola New Orleans.
