Hey guys we will be having our weekly meeting at 7pm in rm402 in the sub. We will meet here every week at 7pm unless specified. We have some exciting things to talk about so I hope to see you there!

Hey Guys,

I hope everyone is having a great afternoon. I am writing to remind you that we will be having our E-board elections this Thursday at 7pm in room 402 in the SUB. There will be pizza served.

I also promised to have a detail description of each e-board positions responsibilities and duties (haha duty..) To run for a position you are expected to give a short speech explaining why you want said position and how you will be effective at it.

The open positions are:

Co-president:
As Co-president you will share with me the responsibilities of running and supporting the club as a whole. You must also attend all meetings, oversee all events, fill out paperwork when required, and attend necessary SA meetings when they arise. You will be the rock of this club. Only the highly motivated and dedicated should apply

Vice President:
You are the back up to the presidents and must be able to assist with all of their endeavors. You are a slightly smaller rock. Still you should be highly motivated and dedicated.

Secretary:
You are responsible with taking the minutes for each meeting and posting them on our e board and general page. Must have a computer and be fast and effective at typing as well as be present at all meetings. You are a smaller rock with computer skills

Event Coordinator:
You are responsible with planning and supporting our events. This includes finding speakers for workshops as well as booking the space. Great position for the motivated and those who enjoy seeing a plan come together. You will be working with the presidents and the other event coordinator. Don't worry you are not alone in this. You are a rock that likes people.

Historian:
You document our events by taking pictures and posting them to our page/slash other forms of social media. DSLR recommended but not required. Expected to be at all MJ society events. You are a cool rock with a camera.

Council of Orgs rep: You are responsible with attending Council of orgs meetings. Council of orgs meetings are every other Monday(next one is Sept. 28th) at 7:00pm in SUB room 62/63. The meetings are usually an hour long and are required for clubs to attend in order to receive money. After each meeting you will email me a short overview of what is discussed. You are a friendly rock with Mondays free.

General member: You have no obligations to us officially but, encouraged to get involved with us and attend our weekly meetings. In terms of getting involved we would like you to help our e-board members plan and attend events, take photos, and most importantly spread the word of our club. This can be simply telling a friend or helping our Public relations people with making flyers and running our social media campaigns. We also need people interested in film-making
to help our club create PSA's as this is a large goal of our club. You are multi-talented rocks.

Sorry for such as long post! Have a great rest of the day!

Congrats to Dayana Carolin for getting enough signatures to start a SUNY New Paltz HerCampus.com chapter! :)

"A Her Campus chapter is a section on HerCampus.com devoted to your school and includes six content areas (Features, Blogs, Campus Celebrities, Campus Cuties, Snapshot and Events) so readers from your school can have an individualized experience on HerCampus.com. Offline, a chapter is also a community of collegiettes on your campus interested in journalism, magazines, writing, event planning, public relations, social media, marketing, business/entrepreneurship and more! Students interested in marketing or PR can gain writing experience, network with other college journalists and participate in marketing campaigns with national clients."

HerCampus SUNY New Paltz is a go!

Emma and I would like to thank everyone who filled out the form and helped us spread the word to others! We are delighted to tell you all that we have been accepted to start our chapter!

We will be keeping people who are interested in joining updated as we go through the onboarding process.

Once again, thank you all.

Hey everyone! Hope you've been well and hanging in there this semester. We were wondering if there is any concrete interest in attending the New York Women in Communication Student Career Conference Saturday, Nov 22. Below are the early bird rates (before Nov.3rd) : Student Member: $70/ Student Non-Member: $85 but if there's a group of 10 or more, there's a 10 discount off each student's ticket.

There will be really amazing panels for students of most comm+media interests, it's a great networking opportunity, and MEN are more than welcome to attend the conference. We are trying to get the conference admission and travel funded, but we would need a solid head count on students who would definitely be able to go. Please comment if you're interested!

Each year, the New York Women in Communications Foundation hosts a day-long conference, featuring over 40 communications professionals speaking on 10 different topics. More than 300 students attend to get career tips on various communications fields, ranging from entrepreneurship to marketing to bro…
