Step into CONDUIT, a solo exhibition by Ava Hudson (BA ’26), opening next week at the Gallatin Galleries.

Through wearable art, textiles, sculpture, and multimedia works, Ava explores the body as a bridge between human, natural, and technological systems. Featuring more than 30 original works created over the past six years, CONDUIT invites viewers into a richly layered world of experimentation, materiality, and imagination.

Join us for the opening on Monday, June 8 from 6–8 p.m. and experience Hudson’s interdisciplinary creative practice firsthand 💜

Semester Recap: MA Performance showcase 🎭

Our MA Program hosted a graduate performance showcase celebrating the creativity and interdisciplinary work of our students.

The evening featured Lindsey Dahm-Nolan’s "variety show," a series of vignettes from an imagined future where humanness has become obsolete; Caro’s Elliot's "Doubting the Bog," a contemplative exploration of place through animal, material, and physical relationships; and Alya Osman’s "Resting Place," a short documentary examining Muslim burials in New York City.

Thank you to everyone who shared their work 💜

Semester Recap: Gallatin Marathon Reading 📚

This semester, 18 participants came together for an afternoon of shared voices and collective storytelling, reading all 120 pages of "The Museum of Unnatural Histories" by Annie Wenstrup during the Gallatin Marathon Reading, hosted by the Writing Program and Center CIRCL.

Thank you to everyone who read, listened, and helped create such a thoughtful and vibrant community experience. Moments like these remind us of the power of gathering around stories.

Patrick McCreery has spent nearly three decades supporting students and advancing interdisciplinary study at NYU Gallatin. His career at the school began as a student worker, but he has made an enduring impact in his roles as a professor and, for the 10 years, as associate dean of students, where he focuses on ensuring every student—especially those facing challenges—has the opportunity to succeed.

As he prepares to step down as associate dean before next school year to focus on his teaching and scholarship, McCreery shares a bit about his time at Gallatin—and about what it means to him to have served as a dean for a decade.
