CUSH - Columbia University Society of Hip-Hop CUSH

This is a starting point to a much bigger movement...The mission of CUSH is to bring together lovers of Hip-Hop music in all the forms they come in, fans, artists(emcees, singers, poets e.t.c), Producers/BeatMakers, DJs, B-Boyz/Girls and Graffiti artists... the idea is to bring all of you together, provide a space for networking, entertainment, and to discuss some critical issues in hip hop today,

both on the music/industry side and also Artform/cultural side of things. These will be in a lot of forms; from having panel discussions with some big names in hip hop circles, to having album listening parties, showcases and concerts involving all the elements of hip hop... and much more.

This playlist, DANCE IT AWAY, is filled with our favorite dance anthems from past and present that will help you unwind and bring a smile to your face if you need something to listen to while taking care of yourself. Listen to it while doing work, taking a walk, or use it to have a single person dance party in your room. We stand in solidarity with all protestors. “Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me. How can any one deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It’s beyond me.” – Zora Neale Hurston, 1928.....
This is the 2nd of 3 playlists we created in response to the current nationwide protests. This playlist, IT’S BEYOND ME, is filled with soft and slow R&B protest anthems from past and present that express the anger and sadness that comes with losing more and more Black people to police brutality and white supremacy in America. We stand in solidarity with all protestors. We will also be sharing resources in honor of the tragic loss of Breonna Taylor and to support the protesters fighting in Louisville. This is the 1st of 3 playlists we created in response to the current nationwide protests.
