Dean Polly Trottenberg was quoted in The New York Times, discussing the plan to overhaul the New York City-owned portion of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.

Officials announced on Monday a plan to overhaul the section of the highway that belongs to New York City. The road needs quick repair to remain safe for driving.

📚 This past weekend, we welcomed our newest cohort of Executive MPA students to NYU Wagner! Our students spent the day getting to know the program and each other, hearing from Dean Polly Trottenberg and program director Judy Pryor-Ramirez, engaging in leadership and teamwork activities, and connecting with a panel of continuing EMPA students.

We're thrilled to have this impressive group as part of our Wagner community, and we can't wait to welcome the rest of our new students this Sunday! 💜

💬 “To stand in the presence of Puerto Rican leaders who move through their work with such power, humility, compassion, and love was something I could not have anticipated and cannot fully put into words."

☀️ This summer, a cohort of 17 students from NYU Wagner and across the University joined Professor Judy Pryor-Ramirez for Leveraging Leadership for Organizational Success, a travel course that included a weeklong immersive trip to Puerto Rico.

📓 The course explores the legal and political mechanisms that impact social sector leadership in Puerto Rico, given its territorial status. Prior to departing for Puerto Rico, students attended class sessions to establish their theoretical foundation, studying the history and politics of Puerto Rico, leadership frameworks, community engagement ethics, and collaborative ethnography.

✈️ The seven-day trip then featured talks and visits with guest leaders from community partners around Puerto Rico.

"Courses in conflict management, corporate philanthropy, and project management really built my confidence as a professional and deepened my passion for public service."

Double Violet Aminata Drame (GLS 2021, MPA-PNP 2024) was first inspired to pursue public service during her junior year abroad in Paris, where she discovered similarities to the Bronx community she grew up in. Now, Aminata has come full circle, serving as an academic advisor in NYU Liberal Studies, working with students in their First Year Global experience in Madrid and Washington, D.C.

Jacob Faber, NYU Wagner associate professor of sociology and public service, and his co-authors conducted the first national-level analysis of early Federal Housing Administration and Veterans Administration Home Loans in the 1930s and 1940s, finding that a disproportionately low percentage of these loans went to Black borrowers.
