Largely due to the pandemic, Jones beach Tri delta has not been active for quite some time. But in light of recent events, we felt the need to speak up.
The Jones Beach Alumni chapter denounces Tri Deltaโs official statement that we should all just agree to disagree about the overturning of Roe vs Wade, even though the lives of millions of sisters are now in danger. Part of being brave, bold, and kind is speaking out in the face of injustice, and supporting those who are the most affected. The members in our chapter are outraged, embarrassed, and disappointed in Tri Deltaโs response.
In protest, Jones Beach Tri Delta has made the decision to dissolve as an official alumni chapter. Instead, we will be operating as an alumni sisterhood community outside of Tri Delta. As the truth is, sisterhood is not about paying alumni dues and attending chapter meetings. Sisterhood is about love, support, empathy, and community. And as alumni women of Tri Delta, we will continue to uphold our founderโs values of being brave, bold, and kind. We will also continue to meet up with one another, and we welcome with open arms other Tri Delta alumni members who wish to connect with us as well.
