Cancer Awareness Month: A Tribute to Strength and Hope
Dear Students, Faculty, and Community Members,
As we observe Cancer Awareness Month, we are reminded of the profound impact this disease has on our lives. This year, our reflections are especially poignant as we remember our beloved instructor, Dacia Hewitt, who recently lost her courageous battle with cancer. Her dedication, compassion, and unwavering spirit continue to inspire us all.
Cancer affects millions, but it also unites us in our fight against it. At AMG School of Nursing, we are committed to educating and empowering our students, 90% of whom are women, to become the compassionate caregivers and advocates our world needs.
In honor of our beloved Professor Hewitt and all those affected by cancer, we pledge to:
Raise Awareness: Share knowledge about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment options.
Support Research: Advocate for and contribute to cancer research initiatives.
Provide Compassionate Care: Continue to offer the highest standard of care to those battling cancer.
Foster Community: Create a supportive environment for patients, survivors, and their families.
Let us come together to honor the memory of Professor Hewitt by making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Together, we can turn our grief into action and our hope into reality.
Join us in this fight. Wear your pink ribbons proudly, participate in our awareness events, and let’s make a lasting impact.
With heartfelt gratitude and determination,
AMG School Of Nursing Staff
