Military Veterans of Columbia University, also known as Milvets, is the largest student veterans organization in the Ivy League and includes more than 95% of all Ivy League undergraduate veterans. Our membership includes men and women from every branch of the armed forces who have served in countless operations throughout the globe. As students, we utilize our experiences to bring a unique perspec
tive to the classroom, enhancing the education of all Columbia students while striving to close the gap between our nation’s military and the society it serves. Founded in 2002, we join a long tradition of veteran scholars at Columbia, dating back to the end of World War II and the creation of the nontraditional student program to serve the needs of returning GIs. Support for the Milvets comes from the administration of Columbia University, the School of General Studies, and the Activities Board at Columbia. Additional contributions have been made by the Student Veterans of America, HonorVet.org, and American Corporate Partners. Military Veterans of Columbia University operates within the organization and structure of Columbia University in the City of New York, which is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
