"I know that I’m going to a graduate program that will let me explore anthropology and Hispanic culture with people who want to include everyone at the table. I’m excited to study with professors who are actively trying to decolonize anthropology. Continuing my education in this program will help me deepen my research skills and also support my community and advocate for them."--Briana Moncayo Campoverde '25

"I looked into the program at Hopkins and realized it was everything that I wanted—the perfect balance of wet lab and social science work. They also focused on environmental justice, environmental racism, and how the environment impacts our food systems and health. John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is ranked the top public health program in the country, and over time, it became my top choice for grad school."--Andrew Vargas '25

"I see myself as a mixture of being a clinician and a professor. I really like helping people grow and learn. I want to be a professor for students—like me when I first came to John Jay—who are not really sure how to navigate the world of academia. I want to be the professor that shows them how to conduct research and work in a lab. As a clinician, I want to have a practice centered around sexual violence, and to some degree be specifically focused on diverse populations."--Imani Thomas '25

“Ultimately, it was the forensic psychology major that drew me to the College. The more I looked into the courses, the more I could see that it truly intersected both the forensic and psychology realms. It tackled the legal and justice aspects of the field and focused on making students strong advocates.”-- Imani Thomas '25
