80WSE Gallery 80 Washington Square East is an extension of the Department of Art and Art Professions in the NYU St

80WSE Gallery presents contemporary and historical exhibitions, as well as experimental projects by noted artists and curators, produced in collaboration with faculty and students from NYU's Department of Art and Art Professions. Each spring, 80WSE hosts the department’s MFA Thesis exhibitions.

“Beetles, Cats, Clouds” features three women manga artists—Tsurita Kuniko, Yamada Murasaki, and Kondoh Akino—whose work defied the reigning gender conventions within Japanese comics 1960s into 2000s.
