Welcome to the Stress In Pregnancy research study Queens College! www.sipstudy.org Thank you so much for your help!

Affiliated with New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) and The City University of New York (CUNY) Queens College, we are a long-term research study that works with women during pregnancy. Our participants receive over $200 compensation for participation in the study. The study involves a few psychological questionnaires and also collects biological samples. After delivery we will collect the placenta and cord blood before it is thrown away by hospital staff. We hope to get more information about how mothers’ experiences during pregnancy can encourage the best possible development for their baby and help mothers to raise healthy and happy kids! If you are interested in joining this study, or would like more information feel free to contact us!

🎙️ SIP Study: Discovering Together - Season 2, Episode 3
🎙️"High Stakes: What Ma*****na Use During Pregnancy Means for Your Baby"

With cannabis now legal in New York and across many states, more pregnant women are using it to manage morning sickness, anxiety, or stress. But what does science actually say about how it affects a baby’s development? In this episode, host Kathryn Sie sits down with SIP Lab researcher Marc La Rosa to discuss his research on infant temperament at 1 year old:
• How pre- and post-natal exposure impacts infant fear, sadness, soothability, and cuddliness
• The "double-hit" effect of exposure both during pregnancy and after birth
• Surprising findings on cultural and ethnic protective factors in infant development
✨ Science isn’t about judgment-it’s about empowering families with clear, evidence-based insights. ▶️ Watch the full episode on YouTube:https://youtu.be/30Ur9hcSK0U🌐 Visit us at sipstudy.org for more research and past episodes!
