Our Wilson Center Faculty Fellows bring diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches to examining complex issues facing nonprofit organizations, NGO'S and social enterprises. Through research, case studies, and meaningful engagement with Pace students, Fellows explore emerging challenges, test new ideas, and deepen our understanding of the sector.

📢 Attention Pace University Faculty! The deadline to apply for the 2026–2027 Wilson Center Faculty Fellowship is Sun., Aug.23. Four Fellows will receive $5K in research funding to pursue their proposed projects addressing critical issues in , NGOs, and social enterprises.

Projects include a specific, publishable, research project (case studies and interdisciplinary academic research preferred) with a one-year deliverable deadline and must engage current undergraduate or graduate Pace students in the research. This summer, our City and the Sea Fellow, Sabrina has been making an impact at Billion Oyster Project supporting community engagement and oyster restoration efforts throughout New York Harbor.

From assisting with reef installations and field research to leading presentations, facilitating educational programming on Governors Island, and engaging community partners, Sabrina has embraced every opportunity to learn and lead. The experience has strengthened her communication and organizational skills while providing firsthand insight into how government, nonprofit organizations, and community partners collaborate to restore and protect New York Harbor.

We are proud to celebrate her accomplishments and grateful to Billion Oyster Project for providing our Pace University students with meaningful experiential learning opportunities.

Earlier this week, our funded summer interns and City and the Sea fellows came together for the second installment of our Summer Lunch & Learn Series, featuring our internship host partner, Solar One Nonprofit.

Pace University Alumni and former Wilson Center-funded intern, Daisy Rivera, Program Manager at Solar One, led an insightful conversation introducing students to the organization's work advancing clean energy and environmental justice across NYC.

From a Pace University grad student and her Wilson Center-funded internship at Hudson River Park to a Program Manager, building a career in clean energy. Daisy shared how her path evolved in recent years, offering students a tangible example of how internships, mentorship, and curiosity can shape future opportunities. Thank you, Daisy, for your partnership and for sharing your expertise, career insights, and encouragement with our students.

We look forward to continuing the series with more leaders from the nonprofit, social enterprise, and public sectors throughout the summer.

Yesterday, we connected with our Wilson Center funded summer interns and our City and the Sea fellows to kick off our Virtual Summer Lunch & Learn Series featuring our long-time internship partners, . A sincere thank you to Rachel Swanson, Environmental Education Manager at Hudson River Park Trust, and Zoe Kim, Supervisor of Corporate & Community Engagement at Hudson River Park Friends—and a proud Wilson Center internship alum—for sharing their expertise and insights.

students learned about Hudson River Park's unique partnership model, explaining its unique status as a 4-mile-long state agency public benefit corporation that connects New Yorkers to the Hudson River through green and blue spaces. Rachel and Zoe also highlighted the meaningful work our interns contribute to each summer, from environmental education and field science to volunteer coordination, habitat restoration, shoreline cleanups, and public programming. Zoe's journey from Wilson Center intern to supervisor was a powerful example of how experiential learning can help shape one's career path.

Thank you again to Rachel and Zoe for helping us kick off this new series. We look forward to continuing these conversations with partner organizations across the nonprofit, social enterprise, and public sectors throughout the summer.

Meet Malaika, a student majoring in and , this summer she is interning with the TAP Network, where she's supporting global advocacy efforts surrounding the UN's 2026 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

Working alongside civil society leaders, representatives, and global partners, Malaika is helping contribute to research on human rights and civic space, and develop communications that advance transparency, accountability, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

We're proud to fund these important internship experiences that support students like Malaika as they gain hands-on experience addressing today's most pressing global challenges through meaningful public service.
