Prof Anghie will reflect on the work of the Teaching and Researching International Law in Asia (TRILA) Programme, which has helped build a vibrant and supportive community of international law scholars across Asia. He will also share his thoughts on the evolution and impact of TRILA, and on the broader effort to rethink how international law is taught and researched. The conversation will also situate these developments within wider Global South initiatives and the growing role of Asian scholars in reshaping the discipline.

On March 27, Professor Alex Wang of the UCLA School of Law will introduce his new book, Chinese Global Environmentalism. The book examines how China embraced green development and promotes a form of environmentalism that differs from Western ideas. Registration is now open for this hybrid event.

The U.S.-Asia Law Institute at NYU School of Law welcomes a small number of visiting scholars each fall to work on research projects addressing issues involving law in East Asia, comparative law, and international law. We invite applications from legal scholars and practitioners, including judges, lawyers, and recent graduates who will have completed an LLM, JD, or equivalent advanced degree prior to arrival. Visiting scholars will have access to shared office space, the opportunity to audit courses, and full library privileges at NYU Law.
