The New York City Charter School of the Arts (CSA), located in the South Street Seaport, seeks a math middle school special education teacher; a 6th grade English teacher; and a 6th grade math teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

Charter School of the Arts is the only Manhattan charter middle school focused on the arts. Founded in 2015 in downtown Manhattan, CSA serves about 250 students in grades 6, 7, and 8 in its own beautiful, standalone building in the South Street Seaport neighborhood of lower Manhattan, three blocks from the Fulton Street train station.

The school is led by former Hunter students who are committed to the spirit of joint and collaborative faculty leadership and continuous professional learning.

Students spend about a third of each day making and studying art, and take two different arts classes at any one time, many of them taught by teaching artists who serve on the staff of the school. Students come from all five boroughs, and the school features a diversity of students that mirrors the city’s diversity.

The school seeks teachers who are certified or who are in the process of becoming certified.

The school's salary range is $70,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience, education and/or certifications.
