Associate Professor Sonali Hazarika (Bert W. Wasserman Department of Economics and Finance) was recently appointed as the Baruch College Zicklin School of Business' interim associate dean of academic initiatives and innovation.

She spoke to Zicklin News on an elevator ride to her new office in the Newman Vertical Campus.

The Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity at Baruch College Zicklin School of Business is excited to announce the second annual Cowles Corporate Integrity Student Fellowship for the 2026–27 academic year!

This unique opportunity is designed for exceptional undergraduate students who are passionate about business ethics, corporate governance, and social responsibility and want to make a meaningful impact in the business world.

🎓 Two students will be selected to become Cowles Corporate Integrity Student Fellows and will have the opportunity to:

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, The Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity at Baruch College Zicklin School of Business invites you to a special panel examining how Wall Street, financial firms, and New York City’s financial infrastructure recovered and rebuilt after the attacks.

We’ll hear from Dan Chung, Jeff Bauml ('75), and David Krell (MBA, 71), three executives who demonstrated extraordinary resilience, leadership, and resourcefulness in the aftermath.

The conversation will explore:
• The human, operational, and ethical challenges facing financial firms after 9/11

New York is a city of immigrants. Year after year they arrive by the thousands, each with his or her own unique story of hardship, hope, and survival.

But what if there were a way to unlock new insights into the immigrant experience by using AI? That’s what a team of Baruch College Zicklin School of Business graduate students in Josh Moritz’s marketing analytics classes did over the past year.

In a collaboration of the Zicklin School with Baruch’s Sandra Wasserman Jewish Studies Center (which provided a microgrant) and the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side, Moritz’s students used various generative AI tools—Claude, ChatGPT, and CoPilot—to build a large language model (LLM) that analyzed transcripts of hours of interviews with former residents of the neighborhood, to identify key themes and reveal patterns that weren’t apparent from reading transcripts manually.
