👏 For the fourth consecutive year, Baruch College President S. David Wu is featured in City & State’s “2026 Manhattan Power 100,” an annual list recognizing “Manhattanites who are true power brokers” in New York City and state politics and government.

President Wu was the highest-ranking leader of a public college among the honorees, earning the #52 position.

In its profile of President Wu, City & State credited Wu with helping position Baruch as “one of the nation’s top public colleges for social mobility and economic value.”

Quiet quitting isn’t as simple as it sounds. 👀

Is it about doing the bare minimum—or is there more to the story?
New research co-authored by Professor Stephan Dilchert, PhD, of Baruch College Zicklin School of Business challenges the conventional understanding of “quiet quitting.”

Published in Human Resource Management in May, the study, “Expanding Our Understanding of Quiet Quitting,” identifies four dimensions that shape how people disengage from work:

🔹 The job itself — how employees approach their work and responsibilities
🔹 Workplace relationships — how they engage with colleagues
🔹 Work-life boundaries — how they separate professional and personal life
🔹 Meaning and purpose — the role work plays in their lives

The term gained traction on Chinese social media, where “lying flat” describes a retreat from relentless striving, before becoming a major conversation in the United States.

As Professor Dilchert explained to Zicklin News, the pandemic sparked widespread discussion about quiet quitting—but little consensus on what it actually meant.

Baruch College is the top public college in the Northeast for return on investment, according to The Princeton Review 's “Best Value Colleges for 2027.”

The College also ranked #1 among public institutions in the region for career placement and alumni network, giving Baruch the top spot in three categories.

Overall, Baruch was among 209 public and private institutions nationwide selected by The Princeton Review and recognized for “delivering outstanding academics, affordable cost, and great career foundations.”

Baruch Gains on National List
Among public colleges on the national list, Baruch moved up in all three of the rankings.

The College placed #14 for value, up five spots from last year. The ranking considers several factors including academics, affordability, graduation rates, and salary outcomes.

For career placement, Baruch jumped seven positions from last year’s, landing at #13. The category is based on based on students’ assessments of their schools’ career services and alumni salary data.

The upward trend extended to alumni network ranking, where Baruch ranked #15, up one spot from a year ago.

The Princeton Review SAT & ACT's latest “Best Value Colleges for 2027” list is here, and Baruch College earned triple #1 rankings in three categories, including best public college for return on investment, career placement, and alumni network. 🏆

Among public institutions on the national list, the college also placed at #14 for value, #13 for career placement, and #15 for alumni network, improving its standings in all categories in comparison to the previous year. The Princeton Review highlighted the College's impact in “delivering outstanding academics, affordable cost, and great career foundations” as contributing factors to the College's upward national trend. 🇺🇸
