As we continue our Student Leadership Development program through September 2nd, Journalist & Author Bill Delaney hosted the workshop “The Art of Storytelling" for our peer leaders. There they explored storytelling techniques from campfire stories to news on a digital screen while focusing on the fundamental premise of sharing an idea to another person.

Thank you Bill Delaney for the insightful workshop!

Author & acclaimed journalist Jared Lindzon will offer an honest, human-centred look at Artificial intelligence reshaping the nature of work at a pace that leaves little time to understand what's actually happening. We are excited to announce that our Health Information Technology program has been awarded full accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM)! This means that program graduates are eligible to take the national Registered Health Information Technology exam, which opens up job opportunities in this high-demand field.

When 2026 graduate Ariana Khan applied to the program, she was specifically seeking a degree program rather than a certificate. Working toward a career in medical billing and coding, she plans to take the RHIT exam now that the program is accredited by CAHIIM, giving her a leg up in the job market.

Congratulations to Professor Laquan Black, who led the program's accreditation process with the support of Interim President Elizabeth de León Bhargava, Provost Reifenheiser and Business Administration, Human Services and Information Technology Chair Marcia Edwards.

The Health IT program is also free for eligible students through CUNY Reconnect. Visit https://guttman.cuny.edu/reconnect/ for details!

The excitement of seeing our students walk across the stage on Commencement Day hasn't faded. On June 17, we were honored to welcome CUNY Chancellor Félix Matos Rodríguez, NYC Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Helen Arteaga and Executive Consultant for Technology & Governance Adaora Udoji to Guttman's 13th annual Commencement ceremony in Bryant Park. Together, we honored our graduates and encouraged them to rely on the resilience and determination they've developed at Guttman as they take the next step into their futures.
