The September Klingbrief is here! 🍂

We invite you to read this months issue exploring timely questions shaping schools, leadership, and learning today:

⚠️ How can we navigate crises to turn chaos into clarity and sustain meaningful change?

🤔 How can inquiry be used to shape our futures and reclaim power during swift change?

🤖 How do kids feel about AI and are they as concerned about its use like school leaders are?

🥗 How can we create classroom environments where learning happens by design, and students engage in meaningful learning?

🇧🇹 How can we develop an educational framework emphasizing individualism, cultivating purpose, and finding joy in learning?

📖 How does the digital age contribute to declining literary scores among both adults and children, and what can educators do about it?

🍎 How can educators find joy and gratitude in their work despite the sometimes-chaotic daily life of a school?

Have a book, podcast, article, or video recommendation for fellow educators?

Summer One is officially in the books for the Leadership Academy Class of 2028!

We are so proud of these exceptional educators who just wrapped up their first summer in the Klingenstein Center’s Two-Summers Master’s Program at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Throughout this intensive month, they have shown up with vulnerability and vision—building a vibrant, supportive network and thinking deeply about wise practices in teaching and leadership.

As they head back to lead in their respective school communities, they carry the cohort connections with them. We’re already excited for their return for Summer Two!

Thank you to our Summer one faculty team Nicole Furlonge, Christina Young, Roy Danovitch, Rebecca Stilwell, Kenny Graves, and Reshan Richards

🎶 "I'm coming home..."

When Klingenstein alumna Wanda Marie Holland Greene returned to Teachers College, Columbia University to receive the Medal for Distinguished Service, she opened her Convocation address with a few lines of Coming Home.

Wanda shared that she's still a Knickerbocker—and after the ' Game 1 Finals win, it feels like the perfect week to say it. 🏀🗽

Welcome home, Wanda!

🎓 Graduation season has us feeling nostalgic—and we want to see your Klingenstein memories.

Kling alumni: drop your graduation photos in the comments and tell us what year you graduated, what program you were in!

Whether it was on the steps of Teachers College, with your cohort in regalia, or celebrating somewhere around NYC, we’d love to revisit those moments with you.

Because once you’re part of the Klingenstein community, you’re always part of the cohort. 💙
