On Sunday, November 21st from 3:00pm-4:00pm, ASAP will be hosting a LinkedIn Photoshoot for all HESA students! The photos will be taken by HESA's very own Michael Calla, who is a photography hobbyist snapping pics throughout his travels on a Lumix g9 📷

Stop by the Washington Mews, a beautifully scenic street right by Washington Square Park, to get an updated profile picture! Your LinkedIn photo is vital and will get you noticed by recruiters and others with whom you wish to connect.

We will have hot chocolate and holiday snacks for anyone who stops by and ASAP crew to hype you up 😊

Mary Mun (she/her/hers) is from Chantilly, VA and works full-time in Stern MBA Admissions and Undergraduate Office of Student Engagement. When it comes to self-care, Mary says that there’s nothing better than sipping a refreshing boba drink and relaxing outside in the sun

A ‘thank you’ to anyone involved in your success: “Big shoutout to my OSE fam who inspired me to join the HESA program, my amazing family and friends for being so supportive every step of the way, and Dr. Klein and Dr. Larson for teaching my favorite classes of the HESA program and for being genuinely wonderful people.”


One tip for incoming students: “During busy weeks, intentionally block off time within your calendar to relax! I used to feel like I never had free time so I created my own free time. Put it in your calendar and don’t think about school, work, etc. during that time. This tactic gave my brain a break from worrying about school or work and allowed to reset.”

One tip for incoming students: “Look forward to the amazing person you will become!”

Best self-care practices over the past year: “Walking, running, being outside with nature, hanging out with my dog.”

Natasha McCombs (she/her/hers) is from Amityville, NY and works as at the LGBTQA Center at Pace University. After graduation, she is most looking forward to relaxation!!

One tip for incoming students: “Be who you are and live your life wholeheartedly. You only have 2 years here, make them count! You are not your career, your career is just a portion of your overall journey!”

Rachel Choset (she/her/hers) is from Long Island, NY and works as a Student Engagement Assistant at The Juilliard School. Before coming to NYU to pursue her masters, Rachel attended undergrad at SUNY Geneseo.

One top for incoming students: “Take full advantage of what NYU has to offer you, especially if you do not work on NYU’s campus! Connect with your classmates by getting a meal in the area before/after class, meet at Bobst to work together, or spend a day in Washington Square Park.”

EricaJoy (EJ) Oliverio (she/her/hers) is from Purcellville, VA and works as a Graduate Fellow at the Office of Student Engagement at NYU Stern. During the HESA program, some of her favorite classes were College Student Learning & Development, Campus Communities & Student Subcultures, and Group Dynamics. EJ wanted to shout out Dr. Klein, Dr. Ripkey, and Dr. Moore for making these classes so engaging!

A ‘thank you’ to anyone involved in your success: “A major THANK YOU to my UVA mentors (now peers), for encouraging me to pursue a career in higher education; to Matt, for spoiling me with home-cooked dinners and a plethora of sweets; and - most of all - to my parents, for helping me making this dream a reality.”
