A study from researchers finds that telehealth continues to provide an important source of care for sexual and gender minority adults, especially for mental health, medication management, and sexual health services.

Participants described telehealth as more private, convenient, and psychologically safe—particularly when connected with LGBTQ+-affirming providers. At the same time, barriers such as long wait times, insurance limits, and difficulty finding knowledgeable providers remain.

The findings highlight opportunities to make telehealth more accessible, inclusive, and affirming for LGBTQ+ communities.
