📖 Ephesians 4:32 (ESV)

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

This verse reminds us that kindness and forgiveness are not signs of weakness but reflections of God’s grace working within us. In a world where people can become hardened by hurt and disappointment, God calls us to remain compassionate, patient, and willing to extend mercy just as Christ has shown mercy to us.

Excerpt from: NYDS’s Behaviors and Beliefs

"Because Godly Behaviors and Godly Beliefs are deeply and Biblically intertwined, NYDS intentionally teaches as much Biblical Ethics as it does Biblical Theology. Being “Bible-based, Christ-centered, Spirit-led,” NYDS choses to live and teach the Gospel of God’s Amazing Grace – and its precious and blessed results in our deeds and in our words."

New York Divinity School – Daily Devotional
📖 Matthew 6:14–15 (ESV)

“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Forgiveness is not always easy—it stretches the heart, challenges our emotions, and confronts our pride. Yet in this passage, Jesus makes it clear that forgiveness is not optional for the believer; it is essential. The same grace we have received from God is the grace we are called to extend to others.

Holding on to offense can quietly harden our hearts, but releasing it opens the door to healing, freedom, and deeper fellowship with God. Forgiveness does not excuse the wrong—it reflects the mercy of Christ within us.
Today, take a moment to reflect: Is there someone you need to forgive? As you release them, you also release yourself. In doing so, you walk in the very character of Christ—full of grace and truth.

Reflection: Lord, help me to forgive as You have forgiven me. Soften my heart and teach me to walk in grace each day. Amen.
