Today truly marks an end of an era - after 39 years our beloved Professor Jill Fernandez is retired!

Jill joined the department in 1984 and has served as the Director of Pediatric Outreach and Prevention Programs for most of her career. Jill has made a tremendous impact on thousands of dental students, is a mentor and friend to hundreds of faculty and staff, and has been a pillar in our community both locally and internationally. During her time at NYU, she participated in 55 global outreaches around the world- from Nepal, to Cambodia, to Nicaragua and Maine!

We will miss Jill’s positive attitude, her enthusiasm for pediatric oral health, and her dedication to our students and patients.

We wish Jill a happy and healthy, well-deserved and wonderful retirement 🤍

It's Children's Dental Health Month! Join us this Thursday, 2/24 at 7PM for this webinar on Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF).

SDF has become a major game changer as a treatment option for caries in a non-aerosol generating and non-invasive manner. This program will provide an updated understanding on the current literature and review the science behind the drug, as well as its clinical use. Attendees will learn about pediatric case selection, current clinical guidelines on the application of SDF, and its practices in everyday dentistry.

In celebration of Children's Dental Health Month, NYU College of Dentistry Alumni is hosting a series of webinars to raise awareness about the importance of good oral health.

This webinar will present an overview of the recently released NIDCR policy report entitled, “Oral Health in America: Advances and Challenges” and focus on the sections on children and adolescents.

Join us tomorrow 4/13 at noon for Growing Up Cavity Free - an oral health workshop for parents and caregivers! Learn about your child's oral health, tips for good oral hygiene, visiting the dentist and healthy nutrition. We will also be discussing a special project using Silver Diamine Fluoride.
