Kicking off the 2026–2027 year with the MIT Club of New York 🎉

We celebrated our Annual Fall Social at the Bella Union rooftop on September 15, bringing together MIT alumni, volunteers, Board Members, donors and friends from across New York.

Congratulations to our raffle winners — including one lucky winner of a vintage MIT VooDoo magazine from the 1950s — and a special shoutout to Jiao, who has already attended an incredible 13 Club events since January!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a great start to the year. ❤️

It was wonderful to visit Amogy at the Brooklyn Navy Yard this week!

Founded by four MIT PhDs, Amogy is developing technology to convert ammonia into clean energy. We had the opportunity to hear from CEO Seonghoon Woo PhD ’15, who gave us a special presentation on how Amogy’s technology works.

We also toured the lab, saw the reactor, and got a close-up look at trucks powered by ammonia energy.

A big thank you to the Amogy team for organizing such an informative and fascinating tour!

Kicked off our summer reunion the best way we know how: AYCE KBBQ in K-Town. 🥩🔥
We somehow managed to take over the entire second floor, giving us plenty of room to catch up with old friends, meet fellow alums, and enjoy great conversations over countless rounds of delicious food 🙂‍↕️
Huge thanks to everyone who came hungry, brought the energy, and made it such a memorable evening. It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces, and we can’t wait to see you all again at our next event!
Now settle the debate... what’s your go-to KBBQ meat? 👀👇

MITCNY had a wonderful time attending the 25th Annual New York Asian Film Festival! 🎬 We attended the North American premiere of the South Korean film My Name, starring Yeom Hye-ran (No Other Choice, When Life Gives You Tangerines). The film explores the lasting impact of the Jeju April 3 (4.3) Incident through the moving journey of a woman uncovering the truth about her family’s past while coming to terms with her own identity. Following the screening, we enjoyed a thought-provoking discussion with acclaimed director Chung Ji-young, who shared insights into the film and its historical significance. Thank you to the New York Asian Film Festival and Film at Lincoln Center for facilitating our reservation and for the opportunity to experience this powerful film and conversation New York Asian Film Festival

On May 7th, our club had the honor and pleasure to tour the headquarters of , a non-profit organization that we have long admired.

Hot Bread Kitchen expands opportunities for professional, personal, and economic growth through their holistic job skills training, food entrepreneurship programs, and an ecosystem of support in New York City.

We had lively discussions with staff members and teachers, toured their amazing facilities in Chelsea Market, and observed a cooking class in action.

Thank you Hot Bread Kitchen for the experience, and we look forward to more future partnerships! 🤝🍞🌟
