Gamma Phi Beta Sorority was founded on November 11, 1874 at Syracuse University, NY. Since 1874, the women of Gamma Phi Beta have been dedicated to our founding objective, "promoting the highest type of womanhood." The term "Sorority" was coined by Gamma Phi Beta and is one of the 10 oldest women's organizations in America. We are one of the seven founders of the National Panhellenic Conference. G

amma Phi Beta has over 110, 000 members, over 150 alumnae chapters, and is 155 chapters strong in the U.S and Canada. In the Fall of 1999, Gamma Phi Beta's Zeta Mu chapter was founded at St. It was founded by fourteen women with a dream of being a wonderful chapter on campus.
