The CUNY Fatherhood Academy at Kingsborough Community College was proud to celebrate the completion of Cohort 20 and the 10-year anniversary of the program’s impactful presence at Kingsborough Community College and the NYC communities that the program serves.

The current staff extends our heartfelt gratitude to those who make this program possible, and to the fathers whose dedication has kept it running and transformed it into a life-changing movement. Your commitment, growth, and perseverance continue to inspire us all.

With hopeful wishes this program will continue for another 10 year and serve as a national model in portraying the need of Fatherhood initiatives educational programming at the college and continuing education levels.

Get paid to help keep New Yorkers safe after winter storms.

Emergency Snow Shovelers are called on after heavy snowfalls to remove snow and ice citywide from public areas like bus stops, crosswalks and fire hydrants, and step streets.

We recruit temporary, per diem (by day) shovelers as needed.

Pay starts at $19.14 per hour and increases to $28.71 per hour after the first 40 hours worked in a week.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be:

At least 18 years old
Eligible to work in the United States
Able to perform heavy physical labor
Registration
To register for an appointment, workers must have:

Two small photos (1-1/2 inch square)
Two original forms of ID, plus copies
Social Security card
Get paid to clear snow and ice from bus stops, cross walks, fire hydrants, and other public areas.

The CUNY Fatherhood Academy of Kingsborogh Community College extends our heartfelt thanks to the Middle School of Art and Philosophy in Brooklyn for inviting us to speak at your Fatherhood Initiative Breakfast.

Working together to support and strengthen fathers and father figures in our community is not only an honor, but also a shared commitment. Through collaboration, we can continue to build a strong foundation for families and future generations.

We at the CUNY Fatherhood Academy at KCC are proud to continue spreading the importance of this positive initiative—today and every day.

Tomorrow, September 18, 2025, is Dad’s Take Your Child to School Day, part of the Fatherhood Initiative.

While we know many of you already take your children to school daily, this special day is a chance to highlight and celebrate the vital role fathers and father figures play in their children’s lives. For those who may not always have the opportunity due to work or other commitments, we encourage you, if possible, to join in tomorrow and take part in this meaningful moment.

Let’s continue to show up, support, and strengthen the bond between fathers, families, and education.
