Apply to Become a Student Ambassador at Arival 360 Conference 2026 in Spokane, Washington!

The NYU Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality is seeking four ambitious and organized student ambassadors. The Student Ambassador program is a unique opportunity for students to work at the Destination Experience industry’s premier conference, collaborating with hundreds of creators of tours, activities, attractions & experiences. You will contribute as an enthusiastic, all-hands-on-deck volunteer working closely with the Arival team to ensure a successful event.

Accommodation will be provided for 5 nights, October 11th-16th. However, you are responsible for your own transportation and meals (that aren't included with the event). Dr. Richie Karaburun will also attend the Arival 360 Conference with the Student Ambassadors, and participate as a speaker.

Student Ambassadors will be paid $20/hour for their work at the Arival 360 Conference, and therefore must be eligible to work in the United States.

The deadline to apply is Friday, September 11th at 11:59 PM EST.

Last week, NYU Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality Professors Dr. Richie Karaburun and Jason Shames led another successful Hyatt + NYU School of Professional Studies Digital Foundations class in Chicago!

Over two days, 40+ Hyatt executives explored AI, digital strategy, and how hotel leaders can drive direct digital business while strengthening their digital presence.

Now in its 4th consecutive year, this collaboration continues to bring together energy, curiosity, and a shared commitment to learning.

As Dr. Richie Karaburun shared: “AI can amplify our capabilities, but the real power comes from combining technology with human judgment, creativity, empathy, and experience.”

We’re grateful to Hyatt for another outstanding class and for a partnership that continues to grow and create impact. A special thank you to Alex Montanaro and Erin Diestal. Here’s to the next chapter!

NYU Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality professor Richie Karaburun is quoted in this SmartFlyer article on how luxury travel trends are shifting for 2027 as travelers seek more personalized, human-driven experiences in response to AI, digital overload, and endless choice.

"But the reality is, in our current landscape as it relates to 2027 travel trends, even the savviest travel advisors are using AI; in a recent survey of our SmartFlyer travel advisor community, six in ten advisors have incorporated it into their workflow. Fittingly, on a recent panel discussion at the Travel + Leisure World's Best Summit, Dr. Richie Karaburun, Clinical Associate Professor of Hospitality and Tourism at the NYU School of Professional Studies, said, 'AI isn't going to take your job. Someone who knows AI will.'"

NYU Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality professor Sean Hennessey is quoted in this Business Traveler_USA article on how hotels are grappling with guests stealing everything from towels and toiletries to far more audacious items like televisions, artwork, mattresses, and even a marble fireplace.

"Hoteliers are installing more cameras and posting notices of items for sale to try to discourage thefts. But 'it's always a balancing act in the hotel business,' says Sean Hennessey, associate professor at NYU's Tisch Center of Hospitality. 'You can implement rules and procedures to minimize the risk of theft, but the more rules you implement, the more the hotel starts to resemble a prison.'"
