"Nurses are not passive recipients of policy decisions. They are engaged, organized, and willing to speak. Every day, nurses advocate—relentlessly and skillfully—for their patients. They question orders, coordinate care, translate complex medical information, and ensure that human dignity does not get lost in clinical routines. Advocacy is not an abstract ideal in nursing; it is a daily practice.

So the question is not whether nurses can advocate. It is whether they will turn that same energy, credibility, and collective voice toward the systems that shape health care."
