Happy birthday to Jonathan Walton, Director of NYCUP (the New York City Urban Project)!

Check out this blog post and keep up to date with Jonathan - he is definitely an inspiration and an amazing leader, even for those of you who did not get the chance to meet him during POL week. Definitely read up and get to know how you can become involved in God's plans for your city today. :)

Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season to you all!

Did you know that stress and anxiety are also chains that prevent us from living freely? In order to give life to those around us, we ourselves cannot be dead inside - We must work to see the goodness of the Lord in even the toughest of times.

Here's a word of encouragement.
1 Peter 5:7 says "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." Similarly, Psalm 55:22 says to "Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken." Have faith that the Lord's plans are much bigger than the struggles binding you and those around you.

Good luck and many blessings to you all during finals week!

James 2:14 says that actions speak louder ("Faith without works is dead").
What ACTIONS have you taken this week or intend to take in order to continue living out the Gospel and bring others to a chain-free, slave-free life?

Good afternoon, abolitionists!
If you haven't been updated on our weekly meetings, don't miss out on our FINAL ONE of the semester -
TOMORROW 5PM IN NAC 1/209! There will be a SURPRISE TOPIC discussed plus a DESSERT POTLUCK!
See you there :)

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday!
However, please continue to be just as thankful daily, and pray for those who may not be able to celebrate the holidays.
As Abolitionists, we are called to not just make Christ known in our own lives but to witness others experience this same love.

"Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done." - 1 Chronicles 16:8

If you're coming to , and are ready to see some chains broken in these next few days, come out to the Readying Prayer meetings so that we can prepare for this season together!
Repost from Kimberly Bernard: "This is nuts. The dreams of alumni and the chapter alike are being brought to life and God's plans are being carried out and fulfilled. Hundreds of hearts are being assembled around the name of Jesus Christ, using their gifts for His kingdom and His glory. Continue to pray in your quiet time and honor God with your life, receiving His grace and mercy in all you do. Here's the schedule for The Readying (Prayer) Sessions this week:

11/14- 6:30 p.m.
11/15- 4:30 p.m. (Tentative)
11/18- 5 p.m.
11/19- 6:30 p.m.
11/20- CONCERT!!

All leaders and servers should come to at least ONE session and EVERYONE should be at the day-before session on 11/19, cause the house gone be brought down in Jesus name!"

11/04/2013

It's 5PM! Are you at small group? If not, you should be!
