Antropologia: NYU Undergraduate Journal of Human Cultures and Sciences

Antropologia: NYU Undergraduate Journal of Human Cultures and Sciences Antropologia is NYU's first and only anthropological research journal. We welcome submission from any NYU undergraduates or recent alumni.

About the Journal's Title:

Antropologia is a Portuguese word that translates into ‘anthropology’ in English. The fact that Antropologia is a non-English word, but nonetheless evokes the same meaning in English, would represent the spirits of versatility and openness that guide the journal. Further, the subtitle of Undergraduate Journal of Human Cultures and Sciences is descriptive in nature: it

emphasizes undergraduate involvement in anthropological research whereas human cultures and sciences are reminiscent of the discipline’s objects of study. About the Logo/Artist's Statement:

Designed by NYU's own anthropology major, Lia Masur, Lia stated how "at its very core, Anthropology is the study of people: our past habits, our skeletal evolution, our linguistic variation, and our culture. My logo shows an aspect of each of the traditional subfields, but simultaneously demonstrates that all subfields overlap and must be viewed together to cohesively form the discipline of anthropology."
