Meet our oldest alumni! 👋
Hilda Lipton-Jaffe (’42), age 103, is a lifelong community activist. 💪 She served on the League of Women Voters and the Verona, NJ, school board, and later worked for the NJ School Board Association. As a graduate during World War II, she volunteered as both a nurse’s aide 🩺 and a price-control inspector.
Today, she's an exhibit tour guide at The New York Public Library, is active in her synagogue, and travels worldwide to see her two children, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. ✈️
Sidney Sachs (’49), age 102, is a World War II veteran. He pivoted his studies from civil engineering to accounting following his service. After decades as a public accountant, he retired as an in-house chief accountant. 📟
Sachs is an avid movie, music, New York Mets, and theater fan. A lifelong Broadway playbill collector, Sachs also enjoys taking the stage himself, including at his building’s talent show. 🎭 He has three children, six grandchildren (three of whom are married), and four great-grandchildren.
