Located in the heart of Manhattan near many of the world's major museums, galleries, and stages, Hunter College is uniquely positioned to connect students with the arts both on and off campus. Programs featuring visiting artists and speakers provide frequent opportunities to meet leading artists, writers, performers, and other arts professionals, while student-run publications, clubs, and ensemble

s provide forums for showcasing students' creative work. In addition, Hunter's partnerships with New York's cultural institutions provide special access to performances, exhibitions, internships and other events throughout the city.

Join a group of Hunter students on Friday, May 1 at 5:00pm, for a free tour of the Whitney Biennial. We will meet briefly with Cris Scorza, Chair of Education at the Whitney Museum, who will introduce us to our tour guide.

The Whitney Biennial is the longest-running survey of contemporary art in the United States. The exhibition features the work of 56 artists, duos, and collectives that provide a snap-shot of what’s happening in art now. This year’s show examines topics
as diverse as our relationship to animals, familial relations, global politics, technology, and mythology.

Other Events for the night will include
DJ Danglez from 5-10 PM in the lobby
15 Minute “Mini Tours” of the permanent collection happening at 6:00 and 6:30
Live performances by the cast of “Wicked” at 6:00 and 8:00

LOCATION: Meet at 555 West Street, the staff entrance and loading dock, at 5 PM.
