Such an amazing story!

Army veteran Rodney Sparks was placed with Service Dog Novella after learning about Canine Companions through the program. Rodney shares, "I'm just happier. She gives me somebody to take care of, and somebody who takes care of me." Special thanks to Wounded Warrior Project for their $90,000 grant in support of our Veterans Initiative to sponsor veterans like Rodney.

We are so proud of all the work CCI is doing to help people live their best lives! This is such a great example of the amazing work these pups do to comfort and assist adults and children.

“You see a boy giving water to a dog.

We see much needed fine motor skills being worked (without a fight) hard.

We see life skills understanding of basic needs.

We see being able to follow direction and not be distracted.

We see rewards in companionship versus a treat (though we are ones usually who focus on praise rather than items).

We see independence skills (yes, it is a stretch but if you lived our world, it would make sense).

We see an agoraphobic little boy out in the world calm enough to enjoy and be present in the moment.

We see his feet flat instead of tiptoes.

We see hope. We see a future....yup, in just a picture of a boy giving a dog water."
