This summer, our Fightin’ Blue Hen Cadets took their training across the country and around the world! 🇺🇸🌎 From specialized Army schools to hands-on leadership experiences, our Cadets had the opportunity to learn, lead, and grow throughout the summer.
🌴 Cadet Odin Potemski completed Jungle School in Hawaii, where he learned an important jungle survival lesson: don’t mess with the wildlife! 🐗
🪂 Cadet Chris Sell completed Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he learned one very important lesson: “Keep your feet and knees together!”
🚁 Cadet Danielle Garcia completed CTLT with the 1-229th Combat Aviation Support Battalion at JBLM, Washington. She learned that accountability starts with good communication and that staying on top of task trackers, personnel, and equipment logs is essential to mission success.
🇺🇸 Cadet Blessing Effiong served as an MSIII Trainer for Basic Camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The experience helped her fine-tune her leadership style and learn better ways to interact with and mentor Cadets. She also had the opportunity to participate in meetings with cadre, giving her a new perspective on the planning and leadership that happens behind the scenes.
📡 Cadet Ryan Chester completed CTLT with the 22nd CSB at JBLM, Washington. He learned what it takes to be a platoon leader in a technical support branch like Signal, from organizing taskings to support unit missions to helping plan an Expert Soldier Badge test.
🌎 Cadets Chris O’Neill and Matthew Behrmann traveled to Camp Humphreys, South Korea, for CTLT. O’Neill trained with the 4-2 Combat Aviation Brigade, while Behrmann trained with the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade. Behrmann learned more about the tasks and competencies expected of a junior officer on a day-to-day basis.
🌺 Cadet John Kilby completed CTLT with the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment in Hawaii, where he gained firsthand experience with platoon-level leadership and learned the importance of working alongside NCOs to effectively lead Soldiers and accomplish the mission. He also made the most of his time in Hawaii by getting out on some pretty cool hikes! 🥾
