Congratulations to NJIT's MIP program, Professor Georgeen Theodore, and all the students for winning Architect Magazine's Studio Prize! The Studio Prize celebrates excellence in design education by recognizing thoughtful, ethical studio courses from accredited architecture schools.

This first-year master's studio at the New Jersey Institute of Technology's Hillier College of Architecture and Design investigated how to improve access to clean water in Mumbai.

NJIT Master of Infrastructure Planning (MIP) students after their presentation to Newark Mayor Ras Baraka in the magnificent City Hall rotunda! Congratulations to all the students! Many thanks to our final jurors Bill Bishop, Michael Haggerty, Juan Oneill, Pallavi Shinde, MIP, June Williamson for their constructive input on the projects! Also, much appreciation for the critics who evaluated the work over the course of the semester: Nathaly Agosto, Tricia Martin, Brian McGrath, Alessandro Orsini, Damon Rich, Esther Zipori! We are thrilled to announce that NJIT’s College of Architecture and Design’s Master of Infrastructure Planning (MIP) studio’s submission to the 2019 Schindler Global Award has been selected as one of twelve finalists! Our proposal, “Hydrohoods of To-morrow,” envisions a new, net-zero neighborhood unit that will equitably and sustainably shape the future of Mumbai’s Eastern Waterfront. The students have been invited to attend the award ceremony in Mumbai on May 10th, where the rankings of the finalists will be revealed. Wow! Congratulations to all the students!
