High School Students! Looking to pursue a career in fashion?

University of Delaware Fall Fashion Open Houses are open for registration!

In-Person (Seniors Only) – Friday, October 23rd, 2026 / 9am-12:15pm

Virtual (Any high school student) – Thursday, November 5th, 2026 / 5pm-6pm

Meet faculty, staff, and current students during the opening Q&A session, participate in hands-on classroom activities, and learn about the endless possibilities you can pursue! Whether you are interested in Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising (or both!), this event will highlight the many opportunities offered in the department and university!

Fashion Merchandising and Management is grounded in core business fundamentals as well as textiles, computer competencies and communication classes. A business administration minor is embedded in the major.

Fashion Design and Product Innovation focuses on key foundational design skills such as pattern making, draping, technical design and sewing coupled with business, trend forecasting, art and textile courses. The breadth of courses cast a wide net for students to succeed in a wide variety of career pathways.

University of Delaware Fall Fashion Open Houses are open for registration!

Congratulations to Junior Fashion Design and Product Innovation major Monica Grace! Monica won 3rd place in the National AATCC competition for her “Golden Girl” collection! Monica writes:

“My collection is designed for nursing home residents who want to get around and be out with friends and family, but their clothing is limited. I surveyed the residents at the nursing home I worked at and asked what they would like to see in their clothing or what struggles they have with their garments. With that in mind, I came up with a collection that had their accessibility concerns in mind while also keeping it fashionable so that they have more confidence to go out more”
