Delta Phi Epsilon, Beta Eta Chapter Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority contains a very diverse group of women.

We regularly fundraise and contribute to charities including the Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation, and ANAD- Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders. On March 17, 1917, five women at New York University Law School took a pledge of sisterhood and loyalty and so founded the Alpha Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon, one of the first non-sectarian, social sororities and the only one founded at a profes

sional school. Five years later on March 17, 1922, Delta Phi Epsilon was formally incorporated under laws of the State of New York. On December 5, 1922, stretching out to international boundaries, the first Canadian chapter was installed at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. Growth has been steady, but expansion in numbers has never been favored over strengthening within. From this small group making up the first chapter, there are now more than 55,000 members with chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Our chapters, both undergraduate and alumnae, enjoy a distinguished reputation for scholarship, service, and leadership.

A Letter from our President 💜💛

I remember being in your shoes four years ago, nervous about starting college, meeting new people, and taking that first step into recruitment. Little did I know that one anxiety-filled step into Night 1 of recruitment would lead me to some of the most amazing memories, growth I never could have imagined, and relationships I’ll carry with me for a lifetime.

Delta Phi Epsilon has given me so much more than I ever could have asked for, and giving back to an organization that has given me so much has always felt incredibly natural and important to me. I’ve had the honor of serving as our Vice President of Recruitment and now as President, and both experiences have been some of the most rewarding parts of my college journey. Getting to help guide the meaningful work we do, watch our chapter grow, and foster the connections that I hold closest to my heart are experiences I wouldn’t trade for the world.

To every PNM considering Greek life, I encourage you to take the leap, just like I did four years ago. It’s easy to be nervous about the unknown, but you never know where that first step might lead you. Maybe like me, four years from now, you’ll look around and see a sisterhood you never could have imagined, while carrying with you all the memories, laughter, growth, and unforgettable moments that made these four years so special.

A Letter from our New Member Educator 💜💛

Coming into college, I was a little hesitant about joining a sorority, but then during move infreshman year, I met DPhiE and immediately knew it was meant for me. Since joining, some of my most fond memories and most beautiful experiences have come from my time in Delta Phi Epsilon. 

When I look at our three core values: justice, sisterhood, and love, the one that will always resonates with me the most is sisterhood. Getting my big, twin, little, and my grandlittles has been one of the greatest gifts of my college experience. They have been by my side at every high and low moment, and they are genuinely people who I see by my side in all of the big & small moments of my post-grad life. But even outside of my family line, there are so many inspiring, loving, and incredible women that I am lucky and grateful to call my sisters & best friends. 

As New Member Educator, I feel that I get to experience sisterhood through a new lens. I have the opportunity to welcome a new group of women into the sisterhood that has given me so much. My goal is to make every new member feel comfortable being themselves, supported throughout their journey, and excited to find their own place within DPhiE. I remember what it felt like to be the new member with a million questions, so I’m especially excited to be the person they can turn to-whether they need advice, a little encouragement, or just someone to be there for them.

I am so excited to meet everyone at recruitment this fall, but even more excited to watch a new group of girls find their people, make their own memories, and come to love DPhiE in their own ways. I hope I can help make their experience as special as mine has been.

Letter from our Recruitment Team 💜💛

Going into college, I always had joining a sorority in the back of my mind, but I never thought it would actually be possible for me. As a transfer student and commuter at NJIT, I felt like the odds were stacked against me. Even with those doubts, I decided to go through recruitment because I figured I’d never know unless I gave it a chance and I’m so happy that I did.

From the moment I walked through those doors, I felt welcomed and seen. I had the best conversations with complete strangers and opened up in a way I never had before. And before I knew it, I had found a place that truly felt like home. DPhiE became my home base on campus, a place to escape studio, spend time with friends, and always know I belonged.

Being Coordinator of Social Media has made my experience even more meaningful. I get to tell our chapter’s story through posts and stories while expressing my creativity every day. Getting to be the person who showcases our chapter is such a rewarding feeling.

If you’re questioning whether you would belong in DPhiE I promise I had those same doubts. But taking that chance was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and you never know if you never try.
