Giving back is incredibly rewarding! Yesterday, 21 students from our Newark campus had the opportunity to participate in an insightful Q&A session with RBS alumna Yanela Frias, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Prudential Financial. Yanela was the keynote speaker for the 2025 RBS graduate commencement ceremony.

During the session, our students asked her questions about her experiences as an RBS student and the challenges she has navigated throughout her career.

Congratulations to Alexander Tager, a recent Rutgers Business School- MBA alumn, who Poets&Quants recognizes as an "MBA to Watch" for the class of 2026 🎓!

During his time at RBS, he served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate finance courses, acted as a student ambassador, and, along with his teammates, reached the regional finals of the CFA Institute Research Challenge by creating a valuation model for Duolingo. Following a summer internship in Human Health Finance at Merck, he accepted a full-time offer to join Merck's Finance Leadership Development Program.

Alexander shares why he chose to RBS to complete his MBA "One of the primary reasons I chose Rutgers Business School was its strong commitment to diversity and its connection to a globally engaged academic community. Coming from a family where both of my parents are immigrants—my father from Lebanon 🇱🇧and my mother from Colombia 🇨🇴—diversity has always shaped how I view education and leadership. I wanted to be part of a program where students brought a wide range of cultural backgrounds and professional experiences into the classroom. At Rutgers University, those perspectives enriched discussions and pushed me to think more critically about business challenges."

The new NYC by CUNY collection brings the culture, history, and everyday energy of the five boroughs into a student-focused streetwear collection.

Rooted in New York nostalgia, the collection features bodega-inspired graphics, a tribute to early-2000s East Coast hip-hop, an NYC souvenir-inspired ringer tee, a washed denim tote, and a selection of crewnecks.

What makes the collection especially meaningful is that it was created from within the CUNY community. The capsule was designed by Baruch College alumni Milton Gordon and Vera Rilossi, photographed by Hunter College alum Stanley Ligon, and modeled by current CUNY students.

Congratulations to MBA alumni Spencer Marshall, who is one of two Rutgers Business School- MBA students featured in the Poets&Quants MBA's to Watch Class of 2026!

While attending Rutgers Business School, Spencer Marshall, MBA '26, served as vice president of the Rutgers Business School Student Government Association. The role pressed him to further develop the skills he was forced to build quickly in a prior position.

Spencer chose Rutgers Business School because "it sits in the middle of one of the most important pharmaceutical ecosystems in the world. For someone looking to transition into the industry, being in New Jersey means learning from companies, leaders, and real-world challenges that shape modern medicine. I was drawn to the school's Pharmaceutical 🧬Management program and the chance to combine it with a marketing concentration, which created a direct path into the commercial side of the industry."

After his MBA, Spencer relocated to Boston and launched his career as a Product Commercialization & Strategy Consultant at Axiom
Healthcare Strategies.

During his days as a Rutgers-New Brunswick business student, Connor Jagermann worked in the Rutgers Athletics marketing department, helping with game-day atmosphere and fan experiences. And then came Sir Henry.

He remembers running out of the football 🏈 tunnel with the team, standing on the 50-yard line, and trying to get a section of fans fired up. "To be the face of the university at that point was something that I never took for granted, and I will also never forget," he said.
