Catherine Fuentes Calles, a member of the 🎓, majored in Accounting and minored in Spanish and Chinese, is thrilled to announce that she will be joining Deloitte this fall as a full-time Audit and Assurance Assistant!

In her upcoming role, Catherine will be "assisting in performing audit procedures and checks for financial statements, as well as analyzing relevant data." We asked Catherine what she would miss
most during her time as a Rutgers Business School 🏫 student. "The events are what I'll miss the most! There's really a large variety in the types of events, with some focusing on employers and others teaching you personal skills. My absolute favorite events were the ones that focused on investing and financial skills."

One piece of advice she shares with current and future RBS students is, "My best recommendation is not to be afraid to put yourself out there. At RBS, there are many networking đź’Ľ events, and these are one of the best opportunities you have to make yourself stand out to an employer."

Best of luck in your new role! Click the link below to learn more about our undergraduate program.

For Rutgers Business Newark student Steven Preval he had a a clear sense that he wanted a career in 💻marketing. What he did not yet realize was all the field encompassed — or that the analytical side of marketing would become his passion.

At Rutgers Business School, “I was able to gain a broader perspective of what marketing is,” Preval said.

A first-generation college student, Preval earned four scholarships — three from Rutgers and a $10,000 award from the Advertising Research Foundation — that eased financial pressure and allowed him to fully immerse himself in campus life.

He stepped into leadership roles in RBS student organizations, built professional experience through more than a half-dozen internships and ultimately landed a coveted internship with Google last summer. In January, Google offered him a full-time đź’Ľposition as an associate product marketing manager in its New York office after graduation. The role will focus on Google Ads business-to-business marketing.

“I’m really excited to be able to go back,” he said.

Elizabeth Fieseler, a career counseling officer in the Office of Career Management (OCM), played a pivotal role in his success, helping him prepare for interviews, refine his resume, and identify opportunities—such as the $10,000 scholarship and valuable industry connections.

We are only 48 hours until Rutgers Giving Day! The Rutgers Business School Dean's Excellence Fund helped one Rutgers New Brunswick student, Leo Moreno, travel to Mexico City last year after Rutgers Enactus won second place for its hydroponic farming technique at the Enactus USA National Exposition.

“During the summer, I had the privilege of traveling to Mexico City with my Enactus advisor and teammate to present our hydroponic farming venture at the Enactus Mexico National Competition. Being invited was both an honor and a unique opportunity to showcase our venture on an international stage. The experience was inspiring and eye-opening, allowing us to engage with students, professionals, and entrepreneurs from across Mexico who share the same commitment to using business as a force for social good. Other student teams provided us with valuable feedback and broadened our perspective on how entrepreneurial innovation can address the challenges communities face globally. Beyond the competition."

Leo also shared how he "had the chance to visit the Museum of Anthropology and explore the city of Coyoacán with new friends from Mexico, making the trip even more meaningful. I am truly grateful to the Dean’s Excellence Fund for making this opportunity possible.”
