With profound sorrow, NJIT BGSA mourns the tragic and untimely loss of two of our fellow Bangladeshi students at the University of South Florida. We are at utter loss of words, and burdened under the weight of this profound sadness which every language falls short of expressing. It is our loss that none of us would ever have the chance of knowing these two kind souls at the stroke of serendipity.

Our hearts go out to their families hoping they will find strength in these dark days. We urge our fellow international students to look out for each other, and to be a place of security and familiarity.

We, Bangladesh Graduate Student Association (BGSA) NJIT, condemn the killing of Bangladeshi students protesting for a fair and merit-based job quota system. To express our solidarity with the ongoing protest happening in Bangladesh, we organised a peaceful demonstration on the NJIT campus today. We urge the Bangladesh government and related forces to stop any violence immediately against students without any delay.
