Congratulations to Catherine Komp, a senior honors public policy major and a UD Community Engagement Scholar, who will travel to Cape Town, South Africa, to work with Africa Unite, a nonprofit organization that conducts research and runs community programs focused on human rights issues.

📣 Homelessness in Delaware: Housing Amidst Uncertainty
Thursday, July 16, 2026
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Newark, Del.

Featuring keynote speaker Ryan Moser, Vice President, Corporation for Supportive Housing.

Sessions will focus on developing supportive housing, building shelter and transitional housing capacity, statewide and local leadership in addressing homelessness, and vulnerable homeless subpopulations.

Joseph Trainor, a member of the University of Delaware academic community since 2002, has been named dean of the University of Delaware’s Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration.

Trainor — a professor of public policy who earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from UD — has served as interim dean for the Biden School since March 2024.
