Bienvenido and happy ! The next group of first year students have arrived abroad for their first semester as Blue Hens! Since their arrival in Madrid, Spain earlier this week, they have settled into their residence hall, toured the neighborhood and parts of the city, participated in orientation and welcome activities to get acclimated to the Saint Louis University-Madrid campus, and enjoyed a special welcome dinner. In a few days they will visit the beautiful Monasterio de Piedra. We hope Scholars have the best semester ever - and wish them good luck on the first day of class tomorrow!

On Friday we kicked off the new semester with our first of the fall! Co-hosted by Campus Recreation, students new and old came together to catch up and play some games and win prizes and UD merch. We loved seeing everyone come back together during the first week of classes to enjoy coffee (and tea), snacks, and cake, while expanding the community! We hope to see you all again this Friday for our next Coffee Hour, co-hosted by PNC Bank, in Trabant from 4 to 6 pm!

Buongiorno from our students who landed in Rome earlier this week! This second group of World Scholars are adjusting to the time change and experiencing authentic Italy in the lovely Trastevere neighborhood, where the John Cabot University campus and their residence are located. They have settled into their housing, attended orientation events, and explored some of the city and even the beach. We wish them a wonderful first semester as Blue Hens studying !

Last Friday we welcomed UD’s newest to campus with a special Welcome after International Student Orientation. They gathered to socialize and enjoyed some snacks, coffee, and a cake to welcome them to campus. We hope the semester is off to a strong start for everyone, and we look forward to seeing an even larger crowd at tomorrow’s International Coffee Hour with co-host Campus Recreation in Trabant at 4 pm!

It’s the first of the Fall semester, where we’ll check in on the many activities being enjoyed by students in the program! Last weekend, Year 2 Scholars moved into iHouse, a Living Learning Community residence hall on North campus. Living here is one of the requirements of the 4 year program, giving Scholars the opportunity to further bond as a community and to continually immerse themselves in different cultures while on campus. Our students are once again reunited after living in different countries their first semester and different on campus residences their second semester. We are so excited to welcome them back to campus!
