As Pride Month begins, we're reflecting on a meaningful event that brought together researchers, faculty and students committed to supporting LGBTQ+ communities through scholarship and collaboration.

In May, the University of Delaware hosted its inaugural LGBTQ+ Research Symposium, highlighting innovative research on LGBTQ+ development, mental health, community connection, mentorship, education policy and more.

Organized through a collaborative effort across UD, the symposium created space for faculty, staff and students to share knowledge, build connections and explore ways to better support LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.

Congratulations to the University of Delaware College of Education & Human Development Class of 2026! 🎓

On May 21, CEHD proudly celebrated 496 degree candidates at our Convocation ceremony in University of Delaware’s Field House. The ceremony honored graduates across the School of Education and Department of Human Development and Family Sciences, including participants in the Center for Disabilities Studies Career and Life Studies Certificate (CLSC) program and the inaugural graduates of CEHD’s master of social work program.

As our graduates prepare to make a difference in schools, organizations and communities, we celebrate the passion, dedication and impact they will bring to the world around them. We are proud to welcome them as the newest CEHD Alumni!

Final reminder! Summer classes at the University of Delaware begin June 8.

Educators and professionals can explore graduate-level courses in special education, educational technology, teacher leadership and more with options available in person, online and hybrid. Courses may be taken for graduate credit through the Graduate College Non-Degree (GCND) option through the University of Delaware Professional and Continuing Studies ACCESS Center, as space allows and prerequisites are met.

Rena Hallam has been named the new dean of the University of Delaware College of Education & Human Development, UD Interim Provost Bill Farquhar announced yesterday afternoon.

A University of Delaware alumna, Hallam has served as interim dean since August 2024. Her appointment will be effective immediately.
