The Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA) provides senior enlisted leaders education in communication skills, leadership and management, national security affairs, Navy programs and physical fitness. Of the 1,200 students in attendance annually, the majority are active duty Navy personnel. Navy Reserve, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and international service members make up the remainder of the student population. The SEA has been successful in preparing senior enlisted leaders for positions of greater responsibilities for many years. As a result of that success, graduation is now a requirement before assuming the positions of command master chief or chief of the boat. The curriculum is a six-week blended course of instruction comprised of three weeks of distance learning and three weeks of in-residence instruction.

⚓️🇺🇸 HAPPY 251ST BIRTHDAY, UNITED STATES NAVY! 🇺🇸⚓️

October 13, 1775 – October 13, 2026

For 251 years, the United States Navy has stood as a symbol of strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment to defending our nation and preserving freedom across the globe.

At the Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA), we proudly honor this remarkable legacy by developing senior enlisted leaders who embody our Navy’s core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

As we celebrate 251 years of naval excellence, we recognize the generations of Sailors whose sacrifices, leadership, and dedication have shaped the world’s finest Navy. Their legacy reminds us that leadership is not simply about the rank we wear, but the people we develop, the standards we uphold, and the impact we leave behind.

Our Navy’s strength is rooted in its people, its legacy is carried through leadership, and its future depends on those we prepare today.

To our Sailors, veterans, families, and the entire Navy community, thank you for your continued service, sacrifice, and dedication.

The journey to wearing the anchors is all about growth. Recently, Navy Chief Selects from NPTU Ballston Spa and NTAG New England took to the SEA to seek out guidance from seasoned Chiefs outside their communities. By learning from different leadership styles, they are stepping into their new roles stronger and more well-rounded. Congratulations to the Navy’s newest Chiefs! ⚓️

⚓️ More Moments from Class 298’s Heritage Underway 🇺🇸

Some experiences deserve more than one post!

As we continue to look back on Class 298’s memorable day aboard USS Constitution, these moments capture the pride, camaraderie, and tradition that made the experience so special.

From getting underway aboard “Old Ironsides” to celebrating the culmination of their Senior Enlisted Academy journey, Class 298 shared an experience rooted in the very heritage they are entrusted to carry forward as senior enlisted leaders.

The ceremony may be over, but the mission continues, lead boldly, serve honorably, and always remember those who helped pave the way.

Class 298… your legacy is just beginning! ⚓️🇺🇸

⚓️ Class 298 | Heritage, Tradition & Graduation 🇺🇸

Last week, Class 298 had the unforgettable opportunity to get underway aboard USS Constitution for a Heritage Underway, experience the time-honored tradition of a 21-gun salute, and officially graduate from the Senior Enlisted Academy aboard “Old Ironsides.”

What a fitting place to mark the completion of their SEA journey, aboard a ship that represents more than two centuries of naval heritage, courage, and service.

As Class 298 closed one chapter and prepared to begin the next, they were surrounded by a powerful reminder of the legacy they are now charged with carrying forward. Honor the past. Lead in the present. Shape the future.

Congratulations to the graduates of Class 298! May you continue to lead with purpose, inspire those around you, and leave every command better than you found it. ⚓️🇺🇸
