Exciting News from the Haitian Mental Health Network!

We are proud to share that the Haitian Mental Health Network at William James College has been awarded nearly $1 MILLION in funding to expand culturally and linguistically responsive behavioral health initiatives across Massachusetts!

These investments will support youth mental health and career exploration, maternal and infant mental health, health advocate training, family engagement, behavioral health navigation, community education, and greater access to technology and telehealth services.

The funding includes major investments from the Massachusetts Office of Behavioral Health Promotion and Prevention, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and Boston Children’s Hospital, along with technology support through the Massachusetts Broadband Institute at MassTech

We are deeply grateful to our funders, partners, volunteers, and communities for continuing to support our mission. This is an investment in healthier, stronger, and more connected communities.

Did you know that William James College is launching the first Jewish Mental Health concentration in the country?

The new program reflects growing recognition that Jewish identity, antisemitism, and wellbeing are interconnected, and that mental health professionals need the tools to understand and address these experiences.

The concentration was informed, in part, by work with Academic Engagement Network and will bring together educators, clinicians, and community leaders to explore the impact of antisemitism on Jewish life and resilience.

As part of the launch reception on October 28, Melissa Garlick, AVP of CJP's Center for Combating Antisemitism, will join leading mental health professionals to offer a community perspective on these issues.

“This Juneteenth, we must acknowledge both the wins we have achieved and the winds that propel us forward,” writes Marcus Anthony Hunter.

Today is !

The holiday, which originated in Galveston, Texas, in 1865, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. This day represents freedom and justice for Black Americans and serves as an opportunity for all of us to educate ourselves about the continued impact of trauma caused by slavery.

Today, we’re focusing on uplifting Black voices in mental health by highlighting Black-led mental health organizations. We hope you’ll celebrate Juneteenth by supporting their work. ♥️
