🏆❤️🖤 STATE CHAMPIONS OF CRAFTSMANSHIP! ❤️🖤🏆

Northwest Florida State College has been named the Commissioner's Choice Winner in the Florida Department of Education's Statewide Welding & Fabrication Challenge celebrating America's 250th Anniversary!

Our Welding Program's handcrafted B-25B Mitchell replica, the "Mighty Mitchell," was selected as the top project among institutions, recognizing the exceptional skill, creativity, and dedication of our student welders and faculty.

This project represents more than 2,000 hours of craftsmanship and honors the legacy of the Doolittle Raiders, whose connection to Northwest Florida inspired the creation of our Raider mascot and remains a proud part of our College history.

Congratulations to our talented welding students, faculty, and staff who brought this vision to life. Your work is now being recognized across the State of Florida as a lasting tribute to America's 250th Anniversary.

🚁🎨🧁 What a way to kick off Kids on Campus 2026!

Our campers spent the first day of camp exploring creativity, learning new skills, and experiencing some unforgettable moments on the NWFSC campus. ❤️🖤

Students in Ceramics got their hands dirty creating unique works of art, while aspiring bakers showed off their creativity during Cupcake Decorating. Then, the excitement reached new heights when campers witnessed a MedEvac helicopter land right on campus!

From the arts to aviation, Kids on Campus is all about giving students hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting memories.

We're excited to welcome campers to Northwest Florida State College for a week of learning, creativity, exploration, and fun! ❤️🖤Please note: there is no onsite registration.

Before camp begins, here are a few important reminders:

📍 Location: Northwest Florida State College, Niceville Campus

🕗 Drop-Off & Pick-Up:
Drop-Off and Pick-up is in Building 400. Enter through the doors on the back of the building. Check-In on Monday begins at 8:30 a.m. Please review your camp information packet for additional information.

👕 Dress Up Days:
🏖 Monday – Tacky Tourist
📚 Tuesday – Show Your School Spirit
🧢 Wednesday – Hat Day
🏈 Thursday – Favorite Sports Team
❤️ Friday – Wear Red for Raiders

⚠️ If your child has food allergies or dietary restrictions, please send a lunch from home each day.

🎒 Don't forget:
✔️ A refillable water bottle
✔️ Comfortable clothes and shoes
✔️ A small umbrella
✔️ Plenty of excitement for an amazing week!

🐸 A highlight from Futures Forward this week!

Students in the Marine Biology track got an up-close look at poison dart frogs during a live feeding demonstration in NWFSC's Natural Sciences Department.

From learning why these frogs are so brightly colored to observing their feeding behaviors firsthand, students experienced science in action and discovered just how fascinating the natural world can be.

Hands-on experiences like these are helping students explore new interests, ask big questions, and see where their curiosity can take them. ❤️🖤

Before the excitement begins, here's a quick look at this year's Kids on Campus lunch menu. 🍔🍗🌯🍕

Daily favorites include:
🍔 Monday – Cheeseburgers
🍗 Tuesday – Chicken Tenders & Mac & Cheese
🌯 Wednesday – Turkey Wraps
🍕 Thursday – Pizza
🍗 Friday – Chicken Tenders & Mac & Cheese

Each meal also includes snacks, a cookie, and a drink to help campers stay energized throughout the day. 😋

Today, we honor the Stars and Stripes — a symbol of the freedom, courage, and unity that have shaped our nation for generations.

At NWFSC, Flag Day is also a reminder of the values that inspire Raider Nation: service, perseverance, and the pursuit of something greater than ourselves. As we celebrate the red, white, and blue, we reflect on those who have served, sacrificed, and helped preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.

🎓✨ Introducing Raider Journeys ✨🎓

Every Raider's path is different, but every great journey starts somewhere.

We're launching Raider Journeys, a new alumni spotlight series celebrating Northwest Florida State College graduates who have taken what they learned here and turned it into extraordinary opportunities.

Our first Raider Journey features NWFSC alumnus Gamaliel Harris.

As a student, Gamaliel balanced academics, athletics, and a passion for music. His talent and dedication caught the attention of world-renowned trombonist Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews, who became a mentor and helped encourage him to pursue his dreams.

Today, Gamaliel is preparing to study for his Master’s Degree at The Juilliard School, one of the most prestigious performing arts institutions in the world.

His journey is a reminder that where you start does not define where you can go.

Day 2 of Futures Forward is in the books! 🚀

Today, students got a hands-on look at 3D printing and learned how technology can turn an idea into something you can actually hold in your hands.

From designing objects on the computer to watching the printers bring them to life, students spent the day exploring, creating, and discovering new possibilities.

It's always exciting to see future Raiders learning something new and having fun along the way. ❤️🖤
