Congratulations to Kaitey Schumacher on being named a 2026 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar!

Since coming to Northeast, Kaitey has earned a spot on the Dean's List every semester while staying involved across campus as an officer for Hawk's Catholic and co-president of the Student Education Association.

As she prepares for a career in elementary education, this $1,000 scholarship recognizes the hard work, leadership, and commitment she's shown throughout her college journey.

Congratulations, Kaitey! We can't wait to see the difference you'll make in the classroom.

We’ve been hearing a few common questions about iHub memberships, so here are some quick answers.

Do I need experience? No. Every member completes an orientation and general safety training. Some equipment requires additional training before use.

What does a membership include? Access to the wood shop, metals shop and rapid prototyping lab.

Who can join? Memberships are open to anyone age 12 or older. Members ages 12–17 must use the space with an adult or guardian member. Adults can use the space independently after completing the required training.

Want to see the space before joining? Contact iHub to ask about available tour times.

Can I try it before committing to an annual membership? Yes. We have weekly and monthly membership options available.

When Andrea Libengood earned 18 college credits in high school, she couldn’t have known how important they would become.

Andrea joined the Army National Guard at 17 and, after high school, spent 15 months deployed, mostly in Iraq. When she came home, her previous college credits meant she was just one semester away from completing her associate degree at Northeast.

“Finishing that degree felt like both an ending and a beginning,” she said.

After earning that degree, Andrea went on to complete her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Today, she serves in a leadership role at Daycos and gives back to the Norfolk community.

For Andrea, those 18 credits became more than a head start. They gave her a way to pick up where she left off when she came home.
